“ Made reservations for 6pm, got seated right away. Ordered mainly appetizers and sashimi to try. Served tea in half cup portions, when we requested more tea, it was very tepid water (not hot). They were out of tuna when we arrived, since the sashimi is limited to tuna or salmon, we were a little disappointed. Then as our dinner ended, we saw a plate of sashimi being walked to a customer, we asked our waiter if they have tuna now, he said they just delivered but he failed to mention it to us, we then ordered two plates. The fatty salmon sashimi and sushi were great. Tuna was a bit underwhelming. The skewers: chicken liver, pork and beef cubes were flavorful. The beef a particular favorite. Crunchy mix tempura, fried veggies, shrimp and calamari was a surprise especially when we couldn't distinguish until we bit into it. Our friend liked his katsudon and we liked the fried rice although it would have been nice to eat it with the skewers for balance. The textures were great, small pieces of egg, shrimp, veggies per bite and not salty. Service was fine, we asked for items and they provided. ”

“ Watami is one of the better Japanese restaurants in Cebu. It’s located in a beautiful outdoor garden with stunning trees and plants inside a mall. You probably want to sit inside with air conditioning in the daytime. But in the evening the outdoor area is lovely. The service, although very busy, was welcoming and professional. There are several restaurants in this area of the mall and it does have a slight atmosphere of food court. The portions are rather small But mostly delicious especially the squid, and I recommend this restaurant. ”

“ I rarely give 5 stars. But they brought me a free appetizer of, I think eggplant, bean sprouts and romaine lettuce. The first two I don't like at all, but tasted everything and ended up eating it all, it was that good. I ordered gyoza with cheese and spice, which seemed like an odd combination on their menu but tried it anyway. It was good. Had the spicy tuna. Excellent. Crispy exterior was different but was delicious. One of the few places that has unlimited ice tea as well. Service was great. Ann was on top of things and so nice. Even Juna the manager came over to check on me and offered more refill on the appetizer and to check to see how I was doing. Will definitely be back. ”
